From the Gdańsk MKS talks with the Government Commission:

Mieczysław Jagielski:
Perhaps there were those who got impatient by the long duration of these negotiations. The man who was on our coach and brought us here today told me: “You visit us too seldom, Mr Prime Minister.” I think that this is not about the frequency of visits but about solving matters in a concrete manner and getting them forward. […]
At today’s CC plenary meeting, our party wants to clearly define a principled position on matters that we are discussing here today. [...] Such recognition will secure the utmost guarantee of a decisive political will to implement the solutions agreed. [...]
Would it not be advisable that we jointly draft an appropriate communiqué that would give to understand that we have actually agreed and that - in this situation - we hold that... what we regard as the most important thing: we finish the strike and resume work. We have prepared a communiqué along these lines. I think that our representatives could remain here to redraft it. I would come back again in the evening. [...] As soon as possible, because people want to rest, after all it is Saturday

Lech Wałęsa:
Mr Prime Minister, actually the most important points do not require much work. The rest can be done fairly quickly. Therefore I suggest: we have waited so long, we have Saturday, we have Sunday, so we will go through everything again [...]. If everything goes well, we really want to go to work on Monday, but we really must have everything in black on white.
Mieczysław Jagielski:
You will have it in black on white.
